Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has made the transition from cricket to commentary and politics. The move came about five years ago after he hung up his boots as an active cricketer. Gautam Gambhir though still is in touch with the people he worked with during his playing days.

One such name is Shah Rukh Khan, the owner of Gautam Gambhir’s former IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. The two recently met as the 41–year–old shared his thoughts on the encounter.

Shah Rukh Khan himself is riding a wave of success. After nearly 5 years away from movies, the 57-year-old made a tremendous comeback to movies. Shah Rukh Khan’s last two movies ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawan’ have done well in the box-office cash registers.

Former Indian opener turned commentator, Gautam Gambhir spent 7 years with KKR in the IPL. The left-handed batter led his team to two title wins in 2012 and 2014 and made them a force to reckon with.

Gautam Gambhir has always spoken highly of Shah Rukh Khan whenever he spoke of his time with KKR. Recently the two met and Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter and wrote “He's not just the king of Bollywood but the king of hearts. Every time we meet I go back with endless love and respect. So much to learn from u. Simply the best SRK @iamsrk."

The former India opener was recently seen in the commentary box during Asia Cup 2023. Gautam Gambhir sounded a warning to the Indian team despite winning the tournament. The left-handed former India star in particular had words of caution for Ravindra Jadeja.

Gautam Gambhir while speaking to Star Sports said “We know he (Jadeja) can bowl 10 overs on any given day on any surface. He is an amazing fielder but he will have to contribute better as a batter at No. 7 because you cannot go in with just six batters."

The 41-year-old further said “If Ishan Kishan plays at No. 5, there are question marks there as well. So Ravindra Jadeja will have to win matches with batting because you might have a situation where you need 80 or 90 runs in 10 overs and the No. 6 and No. 7 batters might be playing together”
