CD Projekt’s next Cyberpunk game in full swing

After a successful release of Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt Red is now focusing on its sequel, currently named Project Orion. Cyberpunk narrative director Igor Sarzyński in a recent post called Cyberpunk 2077 as “warm up” while informing fans.

The team is reportedly back at the Boston office, who is developing a sequel for the game. Fans are excited to hear the work on a sequel officially starting after chaotic release. However, the 2077 launch have many pleading devs to be cautious as not everyone gets a second chance.

Cyberpunk 2077 Quest Director Pawel Sasko also celebrated returning to the Boston studio and start working on the sequel. One of the fans asked if he will also work on Witcher games, Sasko told while his main focus will be on Cyberpunk IP, if the need arise, he will help out.

Cyberpunk is my main IP, however I will be helping here and there with new Witcher, also depending on the needs. There is a very seasoned team who is doing their best to bring you amazing Witcher game and I fully trust them!

It’s true that the launch had many players upset. The game was even removed from the official PlayStation store. The company worked three years to improve the game.

What was the 2.0 update?

Apart from constant updates, the 2.0 update before Phantom Liberty improved on a lot of the base game release. Quests were fixed and added, overhaul to combat system, police, and random events were done. All-in-all, this was actually supposed to be the original game at launch.

While new quests, ending and story expansion were only available to Phantom Liberty owners, the majority of updates also affected the base game and were good quality of life changes.

One small issue was the increase in hardware specification that led some players to feel deceived. Although, the game was already too ambitious for previous specifications, especially with ray tracing and path tracing.

With the launch state of Cyberpunk 2077, many are doubtful of the studio and its next Cyberpunk project. But at the same time, the dedication of CDPR for the Cyberpunk IP have also got fans hopeful.
