Epic Games recently rolled out a new change in how the party system works which has gamers confused. Many believed that was a bug and would be fixed soon, however, the official response clarified that the feature was intended.
A lot of players started noticing that the person they invited was now able to change the game mode and map. This was pretty odd, as earlier only the party leader of the host could make changes.
While it is a good opportunity for trolls to have fun, many have started to get annoyed. Giving everyone the option to make changes in map and mode selection would also create discord among party members.
The change was intentional, not a bug?
One X user, determined to report the latest bug, informed the official Fortnite support team. To everyone’s surprise, the response said that it was a feature and not a bug. “Hello, This is intended, and not a glitch. This was updated, so all players in your party can select an Experience to play and not just the Party Leader,” the response wrote.”
Hello 👋 This is intended, and not a glitch. 🙂 This was updated so all players in your party can select an Experience to play —and not just the Party Leader. Hope this clears it up, and let us know if you run into other issues or questions. 🙌

It is not clear if the developers themselves were trolling other users, but gamers were baffled. Many complained that this would create several problems among party members. Others complained that no information was given regarding the change.
One user revealed that this will be a massive problem in custom matches hosted by Epic Partners. Any random person will be able to join and keep changing the game mode.
Another suggested that if the company intends to keep the new feature, they should add another feature where a non-party leader changing the game mode is met with a voting system. Others can then vote and choose to play or not.
There is no further information if the new feature will be removed or will see changes. As of now, players will just have to trust who they invite.
