Bungie’s Destiny 2 is one of the longest-running live-service games and after 10 years, players will finally be able to modify their character appearance. To clarify, the appearance of a character created at the start of the game could not be changed till now.

Previously, if someone did not like the current character's features, they would have to create a new one which resets the character's progress. In the upcoming quality-of-life update, Bungie is finally adding the feature along with more improvements.

“You will be able to modify the appearance of your Guardians anytime, without cost or limit to the number of changes. Just take into consideration that while you can change the body type, face, hair/head, and markings, it won’t be possible to change from one origin to another (i.e., Human, Exo, or Awoken),” the official post said.

The Destiny conundrum

Destiny 2 in the past few years is having a love-hate relationship with fans. While the set pieces and in-game activities including raids and dungeons are one of a kind, the content goes pretty stale easily in a few months.

Despite being an MMO, the game lacks many features that should be present a lot earlier. For example, the character customization and in-game LFGs. The game does have a transmog system, but that has problems of its own. Players cannot use it on exotic armour and more.

On top of that, the final expansion for the game was delayed, making the ongoing season almost six months long. As per the marketing team, the decision was taken to polish the final expansion for the game. There are more activities planned to fill the seasonal gap.

At its core, Destiny 2 is one of the best long-running video games. The company does not plan to end the series with a final expansion. Instead, there are new episodes planned after the light and dark saga. Fans even suggested starting over in a new universe, but that is something after the final expansion concludes.
