Legends League Cricket is witnessing one of the purest forms of cricket with the return of yesteryear veterans. In match 4 of the tournament, India Capitals locked horns with Bhilwara Kings hoping to steal a better place in the points table. The team looked on fire and one can understand that they had the intent to win the game.
The Kings won the toss and elected to field first against a superb batting lineup of India Capitals. Speaking of the Capitals, Gautam Gambhir returned to the field and with him, returned the luck for the struggling team. Solomon Mire and the skipper opened the innings for the team. The Zimbabwean looked in fine nick and started finding boundaries pretty easily.
India Capitals’ skipper Gautam Gambhir looked rusty and crumbled for a mere twelve runs. Despite losing the wicket of their skipper, India Capitals put on 66 on the board at the end of the powerplay. It was all about Solomon Mire and Hamilton Masakadza for India Capitals in the middle overs as the national teammates took clean advantage of the fiery start.
While Solomon Mire scored 82 runs, his Zimbabwe teammate scored 48 runs and helped India Capitals put on a total of 198 runs on board.
India Capitals crush Bhilwara Kings by 78 runs
Speaking of the second innings, it was a poor one and Bhilwara Kings lacked the intent to make the move. The team lost two wickets at the end of the powerplay and was bottled further in the middle overs. India Capitals restricted Bhilwara Kings to 41/2 at the end of the powerplay.
If one had to comment on the middle overs, one has to admit that they never looked like winning the match. India Capitals’ bowler Pankaj Singh looked in touch yet again and bagged a two-for to his name in the match. It was not it as Liam Plunkett and Pravin Tambe backed him up with wickets to their name.
While Bhilwara Kings tried their best to make the most of what looked impossible, The Capitals’ bowlers restricted them to a total of 120. The Capitals crushed Bhilwara Kings by a mammoth 78 runs. Here are a few interesting tweets from fans that they came up with on Twitter once the match concluded:
