Yashasvi Jaiswal replaces Gaikwad in WTC final squad
Gaikwad was named as one of Team India's standby players for the upcoming Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia from June 7 at The Oval. However, due to his marriage, he informed the Indian Cricket Board of his unavailability, and later Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was announced as a replacement for him.
The 25-year-old had a good campaign with CSK in the IPL 2023, scoring 590 runs in 16 matches at a strike-rate of 147.50. His 26 runs off 16 balls in the final was instrumental as CSK chased down 171 runs in 15 overs to win the title in a thrilling last-ball finish at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
