The Indian T20 League auction is all set to be held today. There will be a lot of interest all over the globe for this mini-auction as franchises are looking to fill the holes and fix any chinks in their armour in order to have a well-rounded side ahead of the Indian T20 League 2023.

The three players who are likely to set the roof on fire, when it comes to commanding a high price are Ben Stokes, Cameron Green, and Sam Curran. Ahead of the auction former West Indies cricketer, Chris Gayle made a huge statement about Green. He said that Hyderabad will go for Green instead of Ben Stokes.

“Surprise bid, unbelievable. No way this is going to happen. One has to factor in that Green has to play in Indian conditions,” he said on Jio cinema. Gayle has projected that Green will spark a bidding war between franchises. Considering the all-around abilities shown by Cameron Green he will command a high price.

Hyderabad will look to shop well at the auction

Hyderabad have the biggest purse in the auction amongst all the teams with a purse of 42.50 in their kitty. They will look for an overseas death bowler to complement their bowling attack, they would also look for a captain replacement for Kane Willamson and they would also look for an opener to complement Abhishek Sharma.

Green has shown versatility with the bat considering that he batted at the top order in the three T20 matches against India and gave a good account of himself there. He scored 118 runs in three matches. He has also shown that he can bat in the middle order and also can bowl 140 kmph.

The auction will be held in Kochi. There will be 405 players going under the hammer. Hugh Edmeades will be managing the auction. This will be a great event to see from the fans' point of view as they will be waiting with bated breath as to what their teams will finally look like after the auction culminates at the end of today.
