Former India pacer's inputs to Sarfaraz Khan after the youngster's social media post goes viral

India's former pacer Dodda Ganesh gave a piece of advice to Sarfaraz Khan after being overlooked for the West Indies tour.

Social media can be a good platform for individuals to convey their opinions, but it needn't necessarily be rewarding for the individuals. Sometimes, the opinions can be unfriendly which can land the individuals in difficulties. Recently, India's test squad for West Indies was announced. Sarfaraz Khan, one of the consistent performers over the years in the Indian domestic circuit, wasn't picked for the squad.

It's not the first time with Sarfaraz Khan. The Mumbai batter wasn't picked in the Indian squad for the Bangladesh tour in November 2022. The consistent performer was neglected for the home series against Australia as well. The WTC finals also saw the exclusion of Sarfaraz. The latest West Indies squad is in the news for several selections and exclusions, the prominent of them being Sarfaraz's exclusion.

Sarfaraz Khan has terrific numbers in domestic cricket. He has played 27 first-class games and scored 3505 runs at a stunning average of 79.65, at a good strike rate of 70.21, including 13 hundred and 9 fifties. The conversion rate of the Mumbaikar is amazing. The aggressive batter has scored daddy hundreds for his domestic teams in the Ranji Trophy, Irani Trophy, and Duleep Trophy.

India's squad for the West Indies tour didn't feature the youngster's name despite all his consistent performances. Expressing his disappointment, the Delhi Capitals batter shared a video of one of his performances from the 2022/23 Ranji season on his social media account without any caption. The post from Sarfaraz instantly became viral on social media.

Reacting to the post, India's former pacer Dodda Ganesh gave a piece of advice to the 25-year-old by taking to his Twitter. The tweet read "My only advice to youngsters: please don't allow the frustration get the better of you when you're ignored. Social media is a double-edged sword. Use it wisely #CricketTwitter".

Sarfaraz has been incredibly consistent in the last three Ranji seasons. The lower middle order batter has scored 928, 982, and 656 runs in the 2019/20, 2021/22, and 2022/23 seasons, respectively. Despite the hard yards from the youngster, he wasn't considered for the West Indies tour.
