Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has confirmed that Sergio Busquets, the skipper of the club, is a part of his future plans. However, Busquets has never opened up about the subject and always downplayed his future with the club. The boss revealed that the player will decide on his future at the end of this season.
“Busquets has said publicly that he hasn't decided anything. He will make a decision at the end of the season and for me, he continues to be key,” Xavi said on Busquets’ future. Barca have a tight schedule coming up as they will have to deal with 12 games in the coming month and a half.
Talking about the hectic schedule, Xavi said that the team would focus on winning as many games as possible. “We have 12 games until the break for the World Cup. It's a momentous stretch of the season. All games are going to be very important. Tomorrow we have to win and show our character. We have to show our strengths,” said the boss of the Catalan club.

I think it would be better if tournament is compiled at a separate time: Xavi Hernandez
Xavi further opined on the upcoming World Cup and said that the tournament must be allocated at a separate time. Weighing the importance of domestic clubs, Hernandez also spoke about FIFA’s plans to conduct the World Cup once every two years.
“FIFA plans to organise the World Cup every two years. Now we have the World Cup in Qatar during the winter period. I think it would be better if the tournament is compiled at a separate time. Then the other time is allocated to the clubs,” the manager said.
It remains uncertain if Busquets will stay in Barcelona. His manager, however, confirmed his plans to have him in the squad. The captain, one of the club academy graduates, has donned the Barca jersey in 685 games, and his future appearances in the club remain uncertain as of now.
