Following Argentina’s 2-0 win over Mexico at the FIFA World Cup 2022, Lionel Messi made headlines for both good and bad reasons. He struck the vital goal for the side to keep their knockout hopes alive. However, he, later, received a lot of flak for disrespecting the Mexico Jersey in the dressing room.

In a video that has been doing the rounds on social media, Lionel Messi was seen removing his shoes while a Mexican jersey was crumbling on the floor just in front of him.

Messi’s antics didn’t go down well with a lot of people and several fans criticized him on social media. Following the social media rage, Mexican’s popular boxing, Canelo lashed out at Argentina’s football with a threatening remark on Twitter.

“Just as I respect Argentina, you have to respect Mexico! I’m not talking about the country (Argentina) I’m talking about Messi because of the blowjob he gave (SIC) ”, wrote ‘Canelo’.

Veteran footballers, Sergio Aguero and Cesc Fabregas have now come in defense of Argentina’s legendary footballer.

Responding to Canelo’s tweet, 35-year-old Cesc Fabregas said,

“You neither know the person, nor do you understand how a dressing room works or what happens after a game. “ALL t-shirts, even the ones we wear ourselves, go on the floor and are washed afterwards. And more when you celebrate an important victory.”

Former Argentina star footballer, Sergio Aguero also came in support of Messi as he made a similar point.

“Mr. Canelo, don’t look for excuses or problems, surely you don’t know about football and what happens in a dressing room. The shirts are always on the floor after the games are over due to sweat and then if you see well, he makes the movement to remove the prize and accidentally hits it.”

Argentina suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat at the hands of Saudi Arabia in their FIFA World Cup 2022 opener. However, Lionel Messi and Co. bounced back with a stunning 2-0 win over Mexico to keep their hopes alive for the knockouts. Argentina will be playing their next encounter against Poland on 1st December, Thursday.
