The Brazilian football team is one of the most popular teams in the world. There have been a lot of world-class players from Pele and Ronaldo Nazario to Neymar Jr. and Allison Becker. This is clearly a team which has a legacy of great football players associated with them. Brazil has also won the most FIFA World Cups, winning  5 of them in the 22 appearances. It is safe to say that they are considered one of the best South American football nations in the world.

One of the world-class players for Brazil is none other than Dani Alves. He is considered one of the best right-backs for Brazil in his time. Dani Alves has also had successful stints with some big clubs such as Barcelona, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Alvez was also part of Brazil’s squad when they won the 2007 and 2019 Copa America as well. He is the perfect example of a decorated football player in his prime.

Alves jail sentence

Alves was recently accused of sexually assaulting a young woman in Spain. This issue was also brought to court as well. It was today where the former football player was sentenced to 4 and a half years in jail. This supposedly happened in a Barcelona nightclub. The Spanish court finally gave its verdict saying “ The victim did not consent and there is evidence that, beyond the complainant's testimony, permits the r*pe to be considered proven."

This is definitely one of the darkest moments for the famous sportsman, who has won big games for his sides. This sentence can ruin the credibility of one of the greatest football players Brazil has ever produced. It will be tough for all the football fans to see one of the most highly regarded players behind bars for almost 5 years. These is the moments that completely ruin an athlete's credibility altogether.
