Sneh Rana, the interim captain of Gujarat, chose to bat against Bangalore after winning the toss in their WTL encounter against Bangalore. Both teams had lost their first two games and did not add a victory to their record in the inaugural edition of the Women's T20 League.

How did the match between Gujarat and Bangalore pan out?

Bangalore's issues with the ball persisted during this match as well. They were quite average in the initial overs and gave up the biggest Powerplay total in the competition so far. By removing Sophia Dunkley and afterwards Harleen Deol, it was Shreyanka Patil, who put them back in the game. They allowed a couple more partnerships to form after that, but Heather Knight took two vital wickets in the middle overs, which allowed them to take a slight backward step.

Although taking one wicket apiece, Megan Schutt and Renuka Singh had to chase a large target because of Dunkley's early storm. Sophia Dunkley blasted 65 off 28 balls and Harleen Deol scored 67 as Gujarat Giants reached 201 for 7 in 20 overs. Both Shreyanka Patil and Heather Knight took two wickets and were the key for the Bangalore bowling line-up.

Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine got Bangalore's pursuit of 202 runs off to a strong start. Nevertheless, Smriti was unable to capitalize on a strong start as usual as she lost her wicket in the last over of the powerplay.

Gujarat was unable to consistently take wickets but was still able to control the scoring rate. In addition to taking three wickets, Gardner produced a fantastic penultimate over when the game was on the line. Despite having a poor game, Annabel Sutherland was able to win it for her team.

The Gujarat bowlers were put under pressure by Heather Knight and Sophie Devine, who made an effort to keep them in the chase till the very end. However, they were unable to match the run rate and ultimately lost by 11 runs.
