Brazil clashed with South Korea in what was the first proper test for the South American team who are being considered the favourites. Let's see how the game played out.

Brazil vs South Korea (4-1)

Korea Republic won their last match against Portugal and looked set to bring tough competition to Brazil in their Round of 16 meeting. It would be correct to say that they failed massively in their endeavour. Brazil who have come up with a stylish and experienced team at FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, put 4 goals past Korea in the first half itself.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior opened the scoring with a composed strike into the top right corner of the net in the 7th minute. Richarlison then won a penalty in the 12th minute which was cooly converted by Neymar taking their lead to 2.

This was however not all for the first half as Richarlison who has already scored one of the best goals of the tournament added another in the 29th minute. Lucas Paqueta also wrote his name on the scoreboard as he added fourth to Brazil's goal count.

The Korea team who were all but out of the World Cup in the first half came out a little stronger in the second. The Asian team was much more compact in the second half leaving no space for Brazil's forwards to run into. Korea Republic also looked to counter on the break and get some goals back.

Paik Seung-ho got one back for South Korea in the 76th minute as a form of consolation in what was a proper beating by the South American team. As a result of this win, Brazil have moved into the quarterfinals and will play against Croatia.

South Korea meanwhile have crashed out of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and their campaign has ended.
