Spain and Germany squared off against each other in the Group E match and the Spaniards, who came into the game with stupendous form, started accelerating the game right from the start. To add more, while the Die Mannschaft struggled to get the ball, Spain toyed with the German players and kept hold of the possession in the first half.

While Germany had two opportunities, Spain, on the other hand, had double of Germany’s and neither of the team scored a goal in the first 45 minutes, adding to the opinion that it might end up as a close game.

Germany, on the other hand, were in a must-win position as the 2014 World champions faced a possible early exit from the ongoing biggest sporting event, courtesy of their humiliating loss against Japan in their first encounter. The former champions looked rusty in the clash against the Spaniards and in the first half, things never looked like going in their favour.

Spain prove prowess yet again in FIFA World Cup 2022

The second half was all about Spain as they started to continue the dominance and carried on the momentum from the first half and eventually kept Germany out of the 18-yard box. With stupendous defence, the Die Mannschaft stopped their mighty opponents from taking a vital lead as well.

At the 60-minute mark, both teams remained without a goal and Germany, on the other hand, stared at an exit as a draw could make things worse for the team, as they will have only the slightest of chances to make a cut to the Round of 16 stage. However, Spain's Álvaro Morata did the magic for the La Furia Roja as he scored a goal to his name in the 62nd team and made the lead 1-0. While many fans opined that it might be the end of Germany, Niclas Füllkrug made a stunning comeback and matched the lead in the 83rd minute.

The La Furia Roja, on the other hand, would hope for a comfortable win against Japan in their final group stage encounter and start off their Round of 16 stage with supreme confidence. However, fans have already witnessed Japan defeating Germany in the World Cup this year. The Spaniards must not undermine the Japanese team and would look to give a strong fight during the game, to be played on December 2, Friday.
