France and Denmark faced off in the Group D match of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar and both teams put on a great fight, eventually. Notably, the first half turned out to be a great one, as both teams kept fighting hard and neither of them managed to bag a goal to their names. To add more, both teams shared equal possession and played with supreme intent, much to the stupefaction of the spectators.

The Les Tricolores created more opportunities, contrary to that of Denmark, but failed to put one of them past the goalkeeper. The Danish side, on the other hand, failed to get past France’s defence and both teams remained at 0-0 at the stroke of the first-half whistle.

Post defeating Australia with a scoreline of 4-1, France came out with supreme confidence and eventually carried on with the momentum in Saturday’s match as well. However, in the second half, France’s star player Kylian Mbappé managed to score one past Denmark’s goalkeeper and produced the lead in the 61st minute.

While the star forward was criticised for his slow start to the game, Mbappe managed to get out his better version and produced a stupendous goal to keep France alive in the race to take home the much-needed 3 points. However, the key Danish footballer Andreas Christensen scored the much-needed equaliser in the 68th minute and made a comeback for Denmark. With just 4 minutes left before the 90-minute mark, Mbappe bounced back yet again and scored the winning goal for France, ensuring victory for the team.

Post defeating Denmark, the Les Tricolores made it through to the knockouts and might as well find themselves in the summit clash, given that they came in as favourites to win the prestigious title. Group D looked tricky as Australia climbed to the second spot on the back of their win against Tunisia earlier in the day. With France pulling off a stunning victory, the points table looked puzzling and fans, on the other hand, struggled to figure out the other possible favourite who might join France in the next round of the tournament.
