There were four games which were played at the FIFA World Cup 2022 yesterday. The World Cup so far has been producing brilliant football action as fans have already witnessed a few upsets. The games are moving thick and fast and there have been some dominating performances as well.

The fans of Qatar have been very privileged to see high-quality football and they would have enjoyed the spectacle on show. This has been a wonderful event so far and it continues to entertain the fans and the football-loving public.

Morocco vs Croatia

The Group F match ended in a stalemate. Croatia were held to a draw by Morocco on Wednesday as they played out of their skins and produced some wonderful football. Luka Modric showed the way for Croatia. Croatia took position for most of the match but could not generate chances to put their noses in front.

Nicola Vlasic produced a big effort in the first half but he was held by the goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who made a superb save in the dying minutes of the first half. Morocco made a similar attempt in the second half where Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic was forced to put out a big save. He made one more save later on.

Germany vs Japan

This Group E match went the way of the Japanese as Japan emerged victorious at full-time. Germany drew first blood as they struck a goal in the 33rd minute off a penalty by Ilkay Gundogan in the first half. In the second half, the game turned on its head as Japan struck twice in the dying moments of the game to end 2-1

The goals for Japan came in the 75th minute and the 83rd minute respectively. The goals were scored by Ritsu Doan and Takuma Asano which signaled a big win for Japan and an upset for the four-time champions Germany. The Japanese were too good for the Germans.

Spain vs Costa Rica

Spain showed the world who is the boss by beating Costa Rica by a fine 7-0 margin. This is the biggest win in the FIFA World Cup in terms of goals scored and it beat England’s 6-2 win over Iran. This was a goal fest  as Spain held their noses in front all the way through. Spain became the first team to score seven goals in eight shots on target in the history of the Football World Cup since 1996.

The Costa Rican defence failed to come to the party as it produced a hapless display on a day when the Spaniards were dominant and everything was going for them. The goals for Spain were scored by six different goal scorers namely Dani Olmo, Marco Asensio, Ferran Torres (twice), Gavi, Carlos Soler, and Alvaro Morata.

Belgium vs Canada

Belgium huffed and puffed on a day when the result could have not gone in their favour and managed to eke out a 1-0 win over Canada to spoil their World Cup return. The Goal by Michy Batshuayi in the first half proved to be enough for Belgium to seal a win over Canada.

A save was made by the Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who saved Alphonso Davies's penalty early on in the piece and Batshuayi got the goal for his side in the 44th minute. Belgium were without their goalkeeper and also their record goalscorer Romelu Lukaku but somehow managed to hold their own in the end.
