Here is a roundup of the matches played that were played at the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Tuesday. The matches were high octane as usual, and they featured one upset and two draws. It was an action-packed day on the whole. The fans in Qatar were very lucky to see some outstanding football.

The World Cup which is hosted by Qatar this year has been making the headlines for all the on-field action, but it has also been buzzing due to certain incidents such as the Rainbow Hat controversy and the dire situation in Iran. Also, Qatar has turned heads for changing its stance on certain issues which it had okayed earlier.

Argentina vs Saudi Arabia

In this Group C clash, the game was an upset for the ages as Saudi Arabia beat a more fancied Argentina side. Though Lionel Messi handed Argentina a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute by scoring off the penalty, Saudi turned the game in the second half.

Saudi who could not execute their plans to perfection in the first half got going in the second half, they came back with a vengeance as they were helped by goals by Saleh- Al Sehri scoring in the 48th minute. Then the killer blow was landed by the Saudi team by Salem Al Dawsari who scored in the 53rd minute, to make it 2-1. Saudi Arabia thus delivered a spectacular performance.

Tunisia vs Denmark 

This was a Group D clash. The game had some wonderful football which was played by both sides as neither of them gave the other an inch as they were held to a scoreline of 0-0. The game was dominated in the early stages by Tunisia as Denmark were forced to commit errors but in the second half, Denmark took their time but got their act together.

Christian Eriksen took charge of the midfield. There was a long-range effort by Mohammad Dragger who just missed inches of the target. The Men from Denmark held their own in the second half. But in the end, the game ended in a stalemate.

Mexico vs Poland 

In this Group C encounter, Mexico and Poland fought hard but ended up settling for a scoreless draw. Mexico had possession of the ball for a longer period as Poland tried to fight back by absorbing pressure and tried to launch into an offensive.

The big moment unfolded in the 58th minute when Robert Lewandoski was pulled down inside the box. Mexico’s man of the hour turned out to be Guillermo Ochoa who made a big penalty save when Lewandoski attempted to score. The contest was close, but in the end, they had to settle for the draw.

France vs Australia 

This was a Group D match that took place between the two sides. France were too good for Australia on the day as they were trounced 4-1. France were helped by a brace from Oliver Giroud and one goal each from Adrien Rabiot and Kylian Mbappe.  France were great at the start but Australia drew first blood and then Raibot equalized for France. Then with two more goals France had a firm grip through the game.
