Ever since its announcement back in 2021, news about Valorant Mobile's release dates has been all but speculations and rumours.
Multiple claims regarding the closed alpha testing were also made, however, there were no official announcements in this regard. All the images were third-party leaks. However, that is not to say Riot Games isn’t making the mobile version.
The decision was made watching the trend of popular PC games being ported to mobile devices and the revenue bump it gave to the gaming companies. A good example is Fortnite mobile, which also provides cross-play between PC, consoles and mobile.
When is the Game released?
As of now, there is no official communication or announcement. Estimating based on rumours, the game has entered closed beta, after which an open beta or early access is expected.
The delay in the release could also be due to Tencent's existing development of Valorant Mobile. Tencent, which is currently the biggest gaming company, is also a parent to Riot Games. They have developed multiple mobile versions of popular games like Call of Duty and PUBG.
However, an insider previously reported that the game is now developed and completed by Riot Games. The game will be available for both iOS and Android, and fans are expecting a lot, especially after this long development.
Worth the wait?
Valorant on PC took the gaming and esports sector by storm. While being free to play, the game provided a better option for the gaming community. This includes a better server, better anti-cheat and much more compared to its competitors like Counter-Strike and Call of Duty.
Looking at the popularity of Valorant on PC, it is safe to say the game will be a hit on mobile devices. The reason is that mobile gaming provides an affordable gaming option along with an option to play anywhere.
