The MongolZ dominate their way through the 2023 Asia eXTREMESLAND championships while only dropping a single match in the semifinals and becoming the champions

Asia eXTREMESLAND 2023 by Zowie concluded on January 28 with ‘The MongolZ’ crowned as champions. The teams went and dominated everyone who came before them and only dropped a single map.

Qualifying for Playoffs in a breeze

The MongolZ defeated both ACME and TYLOO in the group stage matches and qualified for the Semi-finals in the Playoffs. There, they faced the champions of Group B, Team NKT, in an intense best-of-three match.

The team quickly ended the match with a dominating victory of 13-2 over Team NKT. However, their opponent made a comeback in the second map and secured a win with a 9-13 score. This was the first time MongolZ lost a map.

This brought the team to the decider match, here no one was ready to give up. The MongolZ however managed to clinch a hard-fought victory with a 19-17 score.

Dominating victory in Grand Finals

Grand Finals saw The MongolZ facing Lynn Vision, who also had a great track record for the eXTREMESLAND 2023. However, their run was silenced by MongolZ with a dominating 2-0 victory.

The first match saw both teams struggling on Ancient with the match going to overtime. However, The MongolZ managed to secure the game with a 16-14 score. The second match saw complete domination of MongolZ and ended with a 13-3 score line.

MongolZ home the championship trophy along with $25,000 from the prize pool. Lynn Vision Gaming took home $12,000 for the second position and $4,000 for Team NKT and TYLOO each as runner-ups.
