England showed how to win a Test Match in Pakistan by making a bold declaration on Day 4 to have a winning result on Day 5.

England showed the unthinkable by winning a Test match in Pakistan by 74 runs. They left Pakistan 342 to win on the final day and kept them down to just 268. Will Jacks and Harry Brook produced memorable performances in the Test Match.

England came to Pakistan soil to play a Test Match after 17 years. England were all over Pakistan on Day 1 on what was a minefield at Rawalpindi. They scored 657 in the first innings. Zak Crawley scored 122 off 111 balls with 21 fours. Ben Duckett smashed a 107 off 110 balls with 15 fours. Olie Pope hit a 108 off just 104 balls with 14 fours. Harry Brook hit a wonderful 153 off 116 balls with 19 fours and five sixes.

On Day 1 only three maidens were bowled by Pakistan. Pakistan in their first innings continued the leather hunt as Abdullah Shafique. scored 114 off 203 balls with 13 fours and three sixes Imam-ul-Haq scored 121 off 207 balls with 15 fours and two sixes. Babar Azam also got back amongst the runs by scoring 136 off 168 balls with 19 fours and 1 six.

Pakistan were all out for 579 in their first innings. Will Jacks made headlines with the ball for England when they bowled he picked up 6-161 in 40.3 overs. England had a 78-run lead and then scored 264-7 in the second innings to set Pakistan a 342-run target. Zak Crawley scored a quickfire 50 off 48 balls with seven fours. Joe Root smashed a superb 73 off 69 balls with six fours. Harry Brook continued his good form in the second innings and smashed 87 off 65 balls with eleven fours and three sixes.

In the fourth innings, Pakistan were up against a big target of 342 runs. Imam-ul- Haq and Saud Shakeel made their presence felt with 48 off 77 balls with 8 fours and 76 off 159 balls with 12 fours respectively. Olie Robinson and James Anderson picked up 4 wickets each in their respective spells and were the best bowlers for England.

The match went into a situation where a draw was on the cards and the last pair for Pakistan of Naseem Shah and Mohammad Ali batted on 6 off 43 balls and 0 off 26 balls to steer Pakistan to a draw but Jack Leach picked up the final wicket for England to give the Three Lions a famous win on Pakistan soil which was only the third victory for England in Pakistan. Olie Robinson was adjudged the player of the match.
