Former Indian captain Virat Kohli is undoubtedly one of the greatest cricketers of all time. Barring a slump in form for nearly three years post-COVID-19, there are very few players who have been as consistent as Kohli across formats. Widely regarded as the 'King of Indian Cricket', the 34-year-old has ruled the game for years and still remains the dream wicket of many bowlers around the world.

Speaking to Geo Super, a 24-hour Karachi-based Pakistani Television channel, Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf named Virat Kohli as his dream wicket. Notably, this is not the first time the right-arm bowler has said that his dream dismissal would be the star Indian batter. In a funny exchange with Babar Azam during Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023, Rauf revealed that his dream wickets are Kohli and the Pakistan skipper.

Remember Kohli's two-match turning sixes against Haris Rauf in the 2022 World Cup?

Not many will forget Kohli's 'greatest single T20 shot of all time' against Rauf in the T20 World Cup 2022, which fueled India's epic win against their arch-rivals. With 28 needed off 8 balls, Kohli connected brilliantly to clear the ball over the rope and the rest was history. Rauf's following delivery was also hit for a six, bringing India back into the game, which they eventually won by four wickets, with Kohli unbeaten on 82 off 53.

Talking about the six, the 29-year-old earlier stated: “Of course, it hurt when that went for a six. I didn’t say anything but it hurt me personally. I thought something wrong had happened. Anyone who knows cricket knows what sort of a player he is. He has played that shot now; I don’t think he can do that again. Such shots are quite rare, you can’t hit them again and again. His timing was perfect, and it went for a six.”

The two are likely to meet once again in the 2023 ODI World Cup in India, which begins on October 5. The blockbuster clash of the marquee event, IND vs PAK, will take place on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
