India won the two-match Test series against West Indies 1-0 but had a good chance of whitewashing the series if rain hadn't ruined the party. The Men in Blue had the upper hand on Day 5 when they set a huge target of 365, but the weather forced the game to be called a draw.

After being asked to bat first, India posted a massive score of 438 thanks to Virat Kohli's brilliant century and half-centuries from a few others. West Indies showed better intent than in the first innings but they suffered an early collapse on Day 5 when Mohammed Siraj demolished their lower-order.

The visitors gained a 183-run lead in the first innings, and with rain in the forecast, their only goal was to score quickly and invite the hosts to the final innings. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal adopted England's 'bazball' strategy and started attacking the Carrebean bowlers without any mercy. Both openers were out in quick succession, but Ishan Kishan maintained the momentum with a scorching fifty.

India's aggressive approach in the second innings impressed everyone. But Kishan, who scored 52 runs off just 34 balls, opined that aggressive cricket can only be played on a flat surface and there is no need to play like England in every Test match.

“It is not possible that you can play that fast every day, it depends upon situation also. England are batting quick but you need to see on what kind of pitches they are playing, mostly where we play it is not easy to bat because there is a turn and bounce,” Kishan told reporters after Day 5 of the second Test.

Jaiswal and Rohit added 98 runs for the first wicket before the latter got out in the 12th over. Rohit smashed another half-century in the series (57 off 44 balls) while Jaiswal scored 38 off 30 balls. Kishan highlighted that India have the firepower to play attacking shots when required.

“If wicket is flat, where you can score quick, and the need of team is to get runs quickly, then I think you can take on that action. I don’t think it is necessary that we must play in an aggressive manner in every match, but whenever there will be a need of playing attacking cricket, we have got enough firepower’s in our ranks. I don’t think you can always play attacking shots in Test cricket," the 25-year-old added.
