Current NXT North American Champion, Dominik Mysterio retained his title as he beat Wes Lee to win the Championship. Dominik is definitely making waves among all the fighters, but a new signing can challenge him for the title. WWE legend, Brian Pillman's son is rumoured to have recently made a deal with a Stamford-based wrestling group, whereas Brian Pillman Jr. is widely known for his impact in All-Elite Wrestling and Major League Wrestling.

Jr. Brian Pillman has been active since his contract expired on July 11, 2023. The reason for this shift is likely that his style of wrestling was not fit for AEW; anyway, his contract expired in July this year with the latter one. It is expected that he will fit in with the WWE's culture, as they focus more on stories than real action.

Rey Mysterio was in Wes Lee's corner, who battled against his son, Dominik Mysterio

Veteran WWE legend Rey Mysterio was also present in the North American Championship title fight; he was there in Lee’s corner, who was there to challenge his son Dominik. Lee was introduced by Rey, as the veteran wrestler called him the future North American champion. Whereas in the game, Dominik defended the title as Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley accompanied “Dirty Dom” to the ring, later involving herself in the fight, and later slamming Lee with the announce table.

The Mexican wrestler tried hard, but he was kicked out after Dominik hit him with the belt, Ali nearly scored the win as he smashed Lee with a splash as Ripley pulled him out of the ring. In the end, Mysterio Jr. defended the NXT North American Championship title against Wes Lee and Mustafa Ali in the ring.

“The fact that he’s succeeding and becoming own person, he’s already his own person. You don’t know how many times I would have loved to call him up and say, ‘Congratulations, son, you’re really killing it.’ But it hurts. Unfortunately, I can’t do it, and that really hurts. I wish things would be different," said Rey Mysterio while speaking to WWE's The Bump.

But as a father, despite our differences, I’m extremely proud of what he’s doing and what he’s conquering. He just better not step in the ring with me because I will take that North American Title," he further added.

Thereafter, Lura Valkyria, the woman initially mentored by Ripley, came on the scene and struck Ripley with a Black Mass, followed by Lee with his iconic style of Thrust kick, but couldn’t do much. Now it will be interesting to see if father and son come into the WWE ring to take the lead in the battle.
