India will look to start afresh when it comes to the two-match Test Series against Bangladesh after losing the ODI series 2-1 to their Eastern neighbors. India’s Test squad has seen some last-minute changes as the Test regulars such as Mohammed Shami and Rohit Sharma have been hampered by injuries.

In an announcement made by the Indian Cricket Board. They have said that Cheteshwar Pujara will be the vice-captain for the Bangladesh series this has baffled the fans to a great extent as they expected Rishabh Pant to be the vice-captain. When KL Rahul was asked about it at the press conference, said that a change in vice-captain will not make a difference to the dressing room. He let out a startling revelation on the same.

Both of them have been brilliant - KL Rahul

“I at least don’t know what the criteria is. Whoever is picked, you give yourself a pat on the back and continue. Even for me, when I become the vice-captain, you get happy that you have the responsibility of the team. It really doesn’t change too many things. Everybody in the team knows their roles and responsibilities and how much the team appreciates their contribution," Rahul said at the press conference.

The announcement could have come as a surprise to Pujara who has not had the best of times with the bat in whites, but he has shown what he is made up of with stellar performances in domestic and county cricket which has helped him keep his place. When it comes to Pant, he as a keeper has surpassed all expectations with hundreds in England and Australia.

Rahul said that there is no animosity between Pant and Pujara and that both will put their best foot forward for the team. “Rishabh and Pujji (Pujara) have both been brilliant for us in Test cricket. They have done the job so many times. So we don’t really think so much. Whoever is appointed, he tries to take the responsibility and we carry on as a team. The team wins as 11 players and when we go down, we go down as a whole team,” added Rahul.
