Former Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the biggest football stars in the world in the history of the game. The Portuguese hoards the limelight like no one else can. Recently he gave an explosive interview to Pier Morgan in England that made a domino effect bringing Ronaldo to the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

In a sensational $200 million deal, the 37-year-old has been brought to the middle eastern club after Manchester United terminated his contract. Ronaldo who is still the most famous footballer in the world despite being past his prime technically attracted record-breaking 3 billion viewers to the unveiling ceremony. Reports have now claimed that it was even more than the FIFA World Cup Final which was watched by 2 billion people around the world.

In another shocking news related to Ronaldo however, it is being reported that the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr has terminated their star forward Vincent Abooubakar’s contract so they could register Cristiano Ronaldo into the team.

The shocking report is due to Saudi League’s rule which allows only 8 foreign players to be registered by a club. In order to bring in Ronaldo, Al Nassr would have had to release one foreign player, and Vincent Aboubakar who is a Cameroonian football player has faced the axe.

Many fans on social media have spoken against the decision as Aboubakar has been an important player for the team in past. In the 2021-22 season, he scored 8 goals and 4 assists in 23 matches in the Saudi Pro League.

Ronaldo despite being signed however faces a two-match ban and will have to sit out for two matches in the league. He was handed a two-match ban for smacking a phone out of an Everton fan’s hand in the Premier League match at Goodison Park.

Here's how Twitter reacted to Vincent Aboubakar's contract termination by Al Nassr.

Football is at a point where Al Nassr have signed Cristiano Ronaldo and are willing to let go of Vincent Aboubakar, who Beşiktaş are looking to sign as a replacement for Manchester United-bound Wout Weghorst, who is on loan from Burnley. What a time.
