After Gujarat Titans (GT) amassed 214 for 4 off of their 20 overs, which was the highest team score ever in an IPL final, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were forced to chase a record-breaking target. However, the CSK innings was interrupted by rain after only three balls, and they were then set a new target.

At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, CSK were chasing a revised goal of 171 off 15 overs. The equation in the final went down to CSK requiring 13 runs from the last over until Ravindra Jadeja smashed a six as well as a four from the last two deliveries on Mohit Sharma’s bowling to seal the victory. After their dramatic victory over Gujarat Titans, CSK tied the Mumbai Indians' record of five IPL championships. Virat Kohli was one of the first prominent players to thank MS Dhoni's squad on social media.

In the rain-shortened 2023 Indian Premier League final, Ravindra Jadeja scored 10 runs off the final two balls as Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans to claim their fifth IPL championship. Virat Kohli was simply in awe of Ravindra Jadeja’s performance in the IPL final.
