Star Australian all-rounder, Mitchell Marsh played an unbeatable knock of 79 (39) runs to chase down the target of 165 runs with 31 balls remaining against South Africa in a T20I game. At the start of the innings, the Aussies won the toss and opted to bowl first, Aiden Markram-led side posted a total of 164/8 in 20 overs, and Sean Abbott registered a figure of 3/22 in four overs. Visitors, after the last match win, have taken an invincible 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I over the fixture. 

It is pertinent to mention that, the Australian side won the first T20I by 111 runs, Speaking of the chase, Matthew Short and Travis Head started the innings in a blink, Head hit African skipper Aiden Markram for three boundaries in one over, and he scored a total of 18 (17) runs. The other opener, Short, took on the charge against Lungi Ngidi’s second over for 20 runs, but after Head was dismissed in the third over, Marsh came in at the one-down spot and smashed left-arm spinner Bjorn Fortuin for 18 runs in one over.

Looking at the Aussies’ bowling, Tanveer Sangha took four wickets on his debut and was replaced in the first T20 by Adam Zampa, who went wicketless in the last game, whereas pacer Nathan Ellis picked up three wickets for 25 runs, and Abbott was awarded Player of the Match for his performance, along with Jason Behrendorff's figure of 2/25. For South Africa, there were no big scores apart from their skipper, Markram's innings of 49 (38) runs. 

In the first match of the series, Australia dominated the whole game, and won the match in a one-sided manner. The visitors put on a huge total while batting first, with 226/6 in 20 overs. The batting all-rounder Marsh scored an unbeaten 92 runs in 49 balls, along with Tim David’s 64 (28) mark. Later in the chase, South Africa was bowled out for 115 runs. Now for the third and last T20I game of the series, South Africa and Australia will take on each other on September 3 in Durban.
