With the pace of cricket increasing day by day, umpiring is getting even more difficult. A similar instance has taken place in the ongoing match between Australia and South Africa.

On the fifth ball of the 40th over, South Africa bowler Marco Jansen bowled a beautiful out-swinging delivery to Marnus Labuschagne that edged the Australia batter and goes to first slip.

Simon Harmer appears to have taken the catch. The Australian batter however doesn’t seem to think so and hence doesn’t walk off the field. The on-field umpires have a discussion between them and decide to send it to the third umpire.

Soon the replay rolls onto the big screen and it brings a huge cheer from the crowd as the ball seems to have touched the ground before being collected properly. Understandably, the onfield umpire gives the decision of ‘not-out’ for the catch and Labuschagne continues batting on.

Soon videos of the decision started doing the rounds of Twitter and many cricket fans seem to have differing opinions from the umpire. One user wrote, “Out! The soft signal was out so you need conclusive evidence to overturn it. When he left his hands after the catch the fingers were under the ball, there should be a difference bwt bounce & touching the grass.”

Another by the name Bluetick also appeared to support the decision in South Africa's favour saying, “On-field decision has no value in home condition.”

Many Australian fans however had opinions of their own. One with the name Adz said, “So can we call him a cheat or does sandpaper need to be involved?” Another by the name S#gh creed said, “Not out, can see the turf fly up when he gripped the ball….definitely hit the turf before the catch was completed.”

Let's look at how Twitter reacted to Marnus Labuschagne's not-out decision:

Many however also supported the umpire's decision:
