Daryl Mitchell smashes a six straight into spectator’s beer glass; visitors offer a replacement drink to the fan  

Daryl Mitchell smashed Jack Leach over long off and the ball went on to the hit a fan’s beer glass on day 1 of the second Test.

The second of the three-match Test series between England and New Zealand is currently underway at Nottingham’s Trent Bridge Stadium. English skipper Ben Stokes elected to field first after winning the toss. Batting first, the Kiwis completely dominated the hosts on Day 1 of the second Test match.

Amidst that, the fans also witnessed a hilarious incident on Day1 of the Test which involved Daryl Mitchell and English spectators.

Mitchell smashed six directly into the beer glass of the spectator

Mitchell carried his batting form from the first Test to the Nottingham as well. He scored unbeaten fifty, including nine fours and two sixes. Interestingly, one of his  two sixes, went straight to hit the beer glass of an English spectator.

The incident happened in the 56th over of New Zealand’s inning. Daryl Mitchell smashed Leach over long off and the ball went on to the hit a fan’s beer glass. England fast bowler, Matty Potts, later, signaled that the ball had smashed the beer glass in the spectator area.

Later, it was confirmed by England’s Barmy Army on their Twitter handle that the visitors gave the spectator named Susan, a replacement drink to compensate for his lost beer glass because Daryl Mitchell's six.

After the end of Day’s play, the Kiwi batter met Susan and also extended his apologies for hitting the ball into his beer glass.

Speaking of the game, the Visitors got a good and steady start of 84 runs for the first wicket from the opening pair of skipper Tom Latham and Will Young. New Zealand ended the first day, scoring 318 runs for the loss of four wickets with the half-centuries from Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell.
