Virat Kohli is considered to be one of the best players to have graced the cricket field. His fans are scattered across the globe, even in the land of arch-rivals, Pakistan. Recently, in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) opening game in Multan, a few fans of Virat Kohli brought in special banners for the star India batter with special requests written on them.

A banner read, ‘Wish to see Kohli in Multan.’ The banner sparked reactions from fans on Twitter. While some were grateful takes on how Virat Kohli’s greatness is well-respected worldwide, some were hilarious takes on how Virat Kohli is better off without travelling to Pakistan to play cricket.

Virat Kohli has been struggling in the red-ball game

Virat Kohli has regained some of his lost form with his recent performances in the white-ball game. The 34-year-old looked in good touch in the limited-overs game, judging from the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka. The run machine scored two centuries in the series, the first coming in Guwahati while the second came at Thiruvananthapuram. However, Kohli did struggle against the Black Caps in the last ODI series. And, unfortunately, his performance in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series wasn’t promising either.

Virat Kohli could not live up to fans’ expectations of a spectacular return to the longest format of the game as the star India batter got out after struggling in 26 deliveries, in them scoring just 12 runs. This is Kohli’s 11th consecutive innings where he failed to go past the 50-run mark. The last notable innings for the ex-India skipper was the one against Sri Lanka at Mohali in March last year when he scored 45 in 76 deliveries, hitting four boundaries on the way. Kohli’s last Test century came in the year 2019. He is expected to be in action in the next BGT Test at Delhi starting February 17.
