Mumbai Indians (MI) registered a thumping 81-run win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator and will face Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 2. Earlier, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) advanced to the final after beating the defending champions in Qualifier 1. The four-time champions will now await the arrival of either the MI or GT in the grand finale of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Rohit Sharma and Co had a poor start to their campaign but regained momentum from the halfway stage. The five-time champions have reached the finals a total of six times and have won it five times. The stage is almost set for MI to enter the final, and if that happens, we will witness another 'El Clasico' of the IPL, this time in a summit showdown.

The rivalry between MI and CSK is not unheard of and keeping that in mind, CSK's bowling coach Dwayne Bravo joked that he personally does not want his team to face the 'Blue Brigade' in the final.

I am scared of Mumbai: Bravo

Speaking after CSK's 15-run win over GT, their former all-rounder said, “No, I am scared of Mumbai (laughs). We don’t see it like that. All three other teams are dangerous teams. They are quality teams."

“Yeah, I mean, honestly, my personal feeling, I don’t want Mumbai. My friend Pollard knows that. But, jokes aside, all the best to the other teams. We are looking forward to whoever we are going to face. I think we have got it,” Bravo told Star Sports.

This will be CSK's 10th IPL final - the most by any team in the league's history - and MS Dhoni and his troop have lost three of them against MI in 2013, 2015 and 2019. Bravo, who has been instrumental in CSK's successful outings over the years, has played all three finals and ended up on the losing side. In addition, the Mumbai-based club also has a better head-to-head record against CSK, having won 20 of their 36 encounters.
