India and Bangladesh locked horns again against each other at Dhaka. India had taken a 1-0 lead in the Test series at Chattogram by beating Bangladesh by 188 runs. There was a huge difference in the wicket in comparison to Chattogram the wicket was green and had more assistance for the seamers.

India drafted in Jaydev Unadkat for Kuldeep Yadav. Bangladesh were going strong at one stage on 213-5 but India came back strongly to dismiss Bangladesh for just 227.

Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin picked 4 wickets each for India in the first innings.  Then in the second innings India started off on a rough note at 72-3, But Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer stitched a valuable partnership and bailed India out of trouble. Pant scored 93 and Shreyas Iyer scored 87.

Virat Kohli  had initially claimed for a fair catch

In the second innings, When it came to the 51 over mark, Bangladesh were 153-6 and were building a partnership. They had a lead of 64 runs. The 52nd over was bowled by Axar Patel who enticed an edge of the defence of Nurul Hasan and the leading edge went to the hands of first slip where Kohli took the catch, When Kohli took the catch, he was confident that he had taken a clean catch, but the umpires wanted to confirm the same with the third umpire. When it was referred it was seen that the ball hit the ground before going into Kohli’s hand.

Speaking on the same Daniel Alexander from Sri Lanka took a furious jibe at Kohli for committing the mistake. The is what he wrote on Twitter, India's Kohli claiming a catch which he knew he hadn't taken is a serious offence in cricket (Over 51.6, 2nd Inns). Many Non-Indian cricketers were banned by the Indian Cricket Body for claiming a bump ball under 'conduct contrary to the spirit of the game'. Pant & Ashwin got away in recent past.

Here is the tweet:

In the recent past, Kohli has been very aggressive with his appealing and also there have been instances were he has tried to convince the umpire that he is not out even though he had been clearly out. Kohli has also been involved in vociferous appeals as well.
