Portugal football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo played for Al Nassr since January this year in the Saudi Premier League. He joined the team after being terminated by Manchester United late last year. Since then, Ronaldo has played 10 games as he was absent from the first few games due to a ban on him. For the unversed, due to a scuffle with a fan during his stint with the United, he was banned for a few games.

Talking about the Yellow Brigade, Al Nassr, they have 49 points from 21 matches and are only behind Al-Ittihad. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old has joined his national side for the EURO 2024 qualifiers. Ahead of the game against Liechtenstein, the legendary player spoke about the Saudi Premier League. He said that the league might not be at the highest level as of now but they are looking to improve.

“Saudi League is not the Premier League, I am not going to lie. But it’s a league that has left me positively surprised. It can become a very big league because of how much they want to keep improving,” Ronaldo said.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabian sports minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faizal has credited Ronaldo for the successful of their national league.

“I’ll give you an example, just by Ronaldo coming we have 137 channels around the world broadcasting the Saudi league. We wanted that in the beginning but they said they were not interested, but since one player came now it’s all over the world,” Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faizal said.

Ronaldo also spoke about his exit from Manchester United last year.

"Sometimes, you have to go through some things to see who is on my side. I have no problem saying, I had a bad career run, but there’s no time for regrets. Life goes on and, doing well or not, it was part of my growth."
