Cristiano Ronaldo has been going through some testing times, recently. His contract with Manchester United is likely to come to an end. The club is going to sue the Portugal captain for a breach of contract. As of now, 15 million pounds are still to be paid to Ronaldo. He was also fined one Million pounds because of the interview being aired.
All this happened because of his viral interview with Piers Morgan where he talked about his equation with Eric ten Hag and also talked about a strained relationship with Wayne Rooney. The interview after being aired out in parts, on Saturday, has created a big wedge between the player and the club.
Ronaldo was in for a big surprise when he went home
Ronaldo refused to come in as a substitute for the last three minutes against Tottenham and left to the tunnel before the game ended. In the interview, he said that he was extremely sorry for having done such a thing and then also revealed his son's reaction to the news.
This is what he had to say on his son’s reaction, “But I remember arriving home and Cristiano see me and say ‘Daddy do not go to the game?’ I say ‘No because the club punish me with three days. And he did like *laughs* ‘How they're going to punish you if you are the best player in the world and you're not gonna play?’ I said ‘No I'm not gonna play because I have not been behaving’. And he look at me like, ‘My Daddy not be behave, what?’
He also went on to talk about the chain of events that unfolded before he reached home,
“Piers I will be honest with you, it's something that I regret to leave from the stadium. Probably, or maybe no, I don't know. It's difficult to tell you 100% but let's say I regret it, but in the same way, I felt provoked by the coach. Not allowed for me, a coach to put me in three minutes in a game. Sorry, I'm not that kind of player. I know what I can give to the teams.”
