The Melbourne Cricket Ground(MCG) is the biggest stadium in the world which has a capacity of 100,000 and has been one of the most iconic stadiums in cricket history. This venue has been hosting matches for more than a hundred years. There have been a lot of great matches at this venue which could include some World Cup games or Boxing Day Tests. There have been a lot of players who have enjoyed their time at this venue and have a lot of stories about it. One of the players who has enjoyed his time at the G is Pakistan's former pacer Wasim Akram.

The Sultan of Swing was one of the most feared pacers of his time with his ability to swing the ball with great pace. Inswing, outswing, yorker, bouncer, etc. The 1992 World Cup winner had all these deliveries in his arsenal. This shows why he is one of the highest wicket-takers in international cricket with over 900 wickets. Wasim did not only have enough pace to strike fear into the batter's mind but also knew how to set up the batter as well with his consistent line and lengths. Looking at this record there is no doubt that the left-armer has been in the game for a long time and will have an interesting story.

There was a video on Instagram by Triplemcricket that went viral showing the great cricketer narrating a story of his time at the MCG, where he had an experience with the famous Bay 13 area fans at the ground.  Former cricketer Brad Haddin was also part of this conversation. The Bay 13 area fans are one of the most brash and loyal fans on the ground and Wasim brought up a funny story during his early days in the MCG stating “The word starts with W. In 1989, when I got five or six wickets, I won’t say the word, you guys can guess.” as the commentator got the idea of the word he narrated the story further after acknowledging the word used.

“So, at Bay 13, they were calling me that Wasim is a banker. And I thought they were praising me because at that time I couldn’t get hold of the Aussie accent. It was early days in Australia. I was very happy and waving at them and everything “And then Imran Khan, my captain, came up to me and said, ‘You know what they are saying?’. I said, ‘You know, you’re a good player’. He said, ‘No, they are saying you are a banker’, to explain what it meant. I had to say, ‘Hang on a minute’.” this story made the whole commentary team burst with laughter and have fun.
