India has made an electrifying start against New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ODI World Cup, currently underway at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. India players have already scored a few half-centuries to contribute to the team's total.

Captain Rohit Sharma spearheaded the charge, relentlessly attacking the opposition's bowlers and preventing them from establishing a rhythm. He unleashed a blistering 47 off a mere 29 deliveries before falling in the 9th over while attempting a towering hit off Tim Southee. His innings were adorned with four sixes and as many boundaries, showcasing his dominance over Kane Williamson's team at his home ground.

India amassed an impressive 84 runs in the powerplay. Following Rohit's departure, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli forged a formidable partnership, amassing a 93-run stand before Gill was forced to leave the field due to cramps. Gill's innings consisted of a scintillating 79 runs off just 65 deliveries, punctuated by three breathtaking sixes. One particular six, however, stood out from the rest.

On the fourth delivery of the 17th over bowled by the left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner, Shubman Gill unleashed a ferocious straight drive. The ball, propelled by sheer power and timing, rocketed towards the Indian dressing room, sending ripples of excitement through the Wankhede Stadium. The impact was such that Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav had to scramble for cover.

Now that a solid foundation has been laid, the Indian Team will be looking for a total in excess of 400 to put the Kiwis under immense pressure. India still have the likes of KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja waiting in the wings and they all have the ability to go berserk towards the end.
