WATCH: Sanju Samson fans landing up during Ranji Trophy to meet the man

The Ranji Trophy 2024 has begun with all the upcoming domestic teams competing in a tournament following the 5 day Test format. There will be some young players who will be looking to give their best performance to secure their future in the game and also experienced players who will look to take back their squad in the national side. This might not be the most popular tournament in the world, but has still managed to give us some great players since its inauguration in 1934. With almost a 100 years completed this tournament still gives us some great players and also leads to players getting great numbers in their First class career.

The one player who has been having some great moments in this tournament is none other than Sanju Samson. The 29 yr old batter started his career at the age of 17 playing for kerala and is now leading the side this season. He also has a great record in First class cricket with over 3000 runs in 58 matches at an average of close to 40. Other than that he has been a fan favourite in the Indian premier league(IPL), where he has scored 3888 runs in over 150 games and has a strike rate of over 135.

Sanju Samson has now played cricket for over 10 years and counting and has had a lot of success. This was evident when the match between Kerala and Uttar Pradesh, where there were a lot of fans who came to see him play at the Sanatana Dharma College Ground in Alappuzha. The amount of fan engagement which we saw was really rare for a domestic game. Surprisingly there were people with cameras and autograph books present there only to see Sanju Samson play.

This really showed how popular Sanju Samson has grown within the cricketing world and  why he is still backed in international cricket. The amount of fans and popularity which he has got is due to his consistent performances in Franchise, international and domestic cricket. The love and respect of Sanju has even reached the Ranji Trophy which can give the tournament the needed engagement and viewership it deserves. We don’t know how much it will last, but it is still good scenes to watch
