The U-19 World Cup is one of the domestic tournaments where we get to see the talent of the young players. The Indian U-19 team is currently the defending champions as well with 5 titles to their name. There have been a lot of great cricketers who have made a huge impression in the tournament. The likes of Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill are some of the names that are still remembered to this day. The Indian team this year is also looking great and is still undefeated in the tournament winning 4 games in a row.

The star for the Indians so far has been Musheer Khan with 325 runs from his 4 games at an average of over 80. The 18-year-old all-rounder is currently the top run scorer in the World Cup as well. His knock in the last game was another example of the class and talent that he possesses  where he scored 131 runs from 126 deliveries which included 13 fours and 3 sixes. Musheer is also the younger brother of upcoming star Sarfaraz Khan, who has also praised his brother openly for being a much more talented batter than him.

Musheer’s iconic helicopter shot

One of the most iconic shots from Musheer was his helicopter shot in the 46th over of Kiwi pacer Mason Clarke. This was a shot that even shocked the bowler where Musheer just whips the ball off his pads for a massive six over mid-wicket. What makes it even more special is that the shot was also played with a slower ball and Musheer was able to generate enough power in the shot to strike it for a maximum. This is just a glimpse of what Musheer Khan can do as we will also be seeing him in the next games as well.

There are many great players in the Indian team with some great bowlers in Naman Tiwari and Saumy Pandey and great batters such as Adarsh Singh and Arshin Kulkarni, however, it is Musheer Khan who has stolen the show so far with his magnificent batting in this World Cup. There will be a lot of demand for this young talented player in the future.
