The First Test in the South Africa vs India Test series did not start well for the visitors as they eventually got all out for 245 in the first innings with only a KL Rahul century to be happy about. The entire Indian innings was filled with low scores and thrown-away starts aside from the magnificent innings by Rahul. The Indians have to come back with the ball and find a way to get into this match and put as much pressure as the South African pacers who made life miserable for the Indian batters. There must be a lot of preparations done with how this pitch has been reacting with extra bounce and carry. All eyes will now be on the bowlers who have to take early wickets.

This will be a challenge for India head coach Rahul Dravid, who knows this format and these conditions inside out. We always see the former legend just being involved however he can and make some interesting strategies. Dravid has scored more than 13000 runs as well and is one of the highest run scorers for an Indian in South Africa. Known for his flawless technique and long innings, there is no doubt that he will be looking to give all his insights on how to use these conditions as well and get back into the game.

Rahul Dravid the medium pacer

A very rare and viral clip went viral on social media of a former India player and current India coach during the practice sessions at Centurion. Dravid who has bowled a bit of off spin and kept wickets for a while in his playing days, was seen rolling his arm bowling medium pacers. Even ex-India player and commentator Sanjay Bangar gave his view on the India coach saying “Well, he did most of the things that were asked of him from a player point of view - opened the batting, batted at  3,5,6, kept wicket. So this is something that I am surprised with. I have never seen Rahul Dravid do this. But it is always good because as coaches you do things that you aren't used to seeing. And there's nothing wrong with his action; he seems pretty aligned and just has to add a little bit of pace. Otherwise, he looks pretty alright.”

Watch the video below:

This shows why Rahul Dravid is one of the busiest coaches in the business as he doesn't only want to advise the players but also be involved with them 24/7. This is one of those moments where he is trying something new and also sharing his knowledge with the players. It will be interesting to see what he has in store for the future and what are his goals. Dravid has shown that he is not only known as a legend because of his talent but also his activeness and originality which stands out.
