The India vs England series is currently balanced with both sides winning a Test match and levelling the series 1-1. The England team had surprised the hosts in Hyderabad, but then it was India’s chance to turn the tables on the Barmy Army in Vizag. We all have seen some great performances from both the teams. From the visitor's side, it has been Tom Hartley with his left-arm spinners and low-order cameos with the bat that were proving effective in the First Test whereas it is the class of Yashasavi Jaiswal and magnificent spells from Jasprit Bumrah that have helped India come back into the series of the second game.
There has been a lot of talk about Virat Kohli, who has not featured in the series due to personal reasons. There were a lot of speculations on why the legendary batter chose to exclude himself from the series. He was already set to miss the first two games of the series and was set to play the 3rd Test. Reports are suggesting that the former India skipper might not be available for the next two fixtures of the series as well. This did not sit well with the fans who were looking forward to seeing him play and score runs against an opponent who he has played a lot of memorable knocks against.
The reasons for Absence are still unknown
On his YouTube channel, the legendary South African cricketer AB de Villiers had seemingly revealed the reason for his absence. The former cricketer has said that Virat and his wife Anushka Sharma were expecting their second child. However, he has now recently apologised for sharing false information on the matter saying “Family comes first, it's priority, as I said on my YouTube show. I also made a terrible mistake at the same time - Sharing false information, which was not true at all.” This has made the fans curious once again, about what could actually be the reason for King to miss out in this big series.

The fans might be curious as to why Virat has chosen to exclude himself from the series, but we have to realise that he will need his personal space as well. We get that no one can wait to see him play in the series, but as AB had said family comes first and sometimes you have to make them a priority as well. There is no doubt that we all want to see Virat at his best in the series. However, it is safe to say that we must respect his decision to try to spend some extra time with his family after being on the road for most of his career.
