With Ranji Trophy going on there might be a lot of people expecting Mumbai and Saurashtra to be favourites. However, there have been some great performances from teams that might not have the largest setup, but are still impressing us. It is the Andhra Pradesh team which has been doing well in the Ranji Trophy as well. The team has made it to the knock outs consistently and has given us talented players such as KS Bharat and Ricky Bhui.
The man leading this side is none other than Hanuma Vihari. The 30-year-old batting all rounder has had a successful career in first class cricket already. He has been averaging over 50 in first class cricket and has once again led the team to the knockout. Vihari has also had a decent outing for the national side as well, where he is known for his contribution in the Border Gavaskar series in 2020. Vihari has brought this Andhra Pradesh side to great heights as a captain and he will go down as a legend. Unfortunately, there have been some events that has led to Vihari to resign as Andhra Pradesh skipper.
Pawan Kalyan comes to his aid
Tollywood superstar and politician Pawan Kalyan also had some words about the ousting of Vihari as a captain. The Power star seemed disappointed over the issue and went onto post a message on social media saying “ As Andhra Pradesh Ranji Team captain, helped Andhra Team to qualify for the knockouts 5 times in the last 7 years. From Playing with a fractured hand to an Injured Hamstring, Hanuma Vihari always gave his everything for Bharath and for Andhra Pradesh in the domestic circuit.”
The film star while praising Vihari had gone onto criticise the Andhra Cricket Association, who had supposedly forced Vihari to resign due to the influence of a YCP politician stating “ today, Andhra Cricket Association forced Vihari to resign from the captaincy just because a YCP Corporator wanted it.” This seems like Kalyan has come to the support of the cricketer and was not happy with his treatment. With the popularity of the famous actor, it looks like Vihari will be getting all the support from social media he deserves.
