STA vs SCO Dream11

The Melbourne Stars will be desperate to face the Perth Scorchers in the 7th match of the  KFC Big Bash League 2023-24 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Wednesday, 13th December at 1:45 PM IST. Coming off a demoralizing 103-run defeat in their season opener against the Brisbane Heat, the Stars are under immense pressure to deliver a strong performance.

Adding to their woes are the injury concerns surrounding two key players – Glenn Maxwell and Nathan Coulter-Nile. While Maxwell has been ruled out of the next match against Perth Scorchers, Nathan Coulter Nile's participation is still uncertain.

Maxwell is ruled out due to forearm injury whereas Coulter-Nile is suffering from a calf injury. The Stars' batting line-up, which looked completely out of sorts in the opening game, will need to step up significantly against a formidable Scorchers bowling attack.

For the Scorchers, this match marks their official entry into the BBL 2023-24 season after their first game against the Melbourne Renegades was abandoned due to unplayable conditions. As the most successful team in BBL history, the Scorchers are eager to start their campaign on a winning note and put the drama of the previous match behind them.

 Pitch Report

The pitch at the Melbourne Cricket has traditionally been a balanced track and will have good pace for the fast bowlers. However, the bounce and pace will assist the batters too in shot-making especially if you are good at the back foot. Given the big ground dimensions, spinners will also have a role in the middle overs and we can expect a good encounter between two competitive teams.
