Sania Mirza’s father finally breaks silence on Shoaib Malik’s second marriage

Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik were seen as the modern representation of the Indo-Pak association in these tumultuous times between the neighbours but the recent news of Shoaib Malik’s 2nd marriage surprised and shocked the fans of both the athletes.

Shoaib Malik is an active Pakistani cricketer who has represented Pakistan for more than two decades now and is currently fighting to make a comeback in the team. On the other hand, Sania Mirza who retired last year only was India’s ace women's tennis player in her times who was looked at as a trendsetter and was an inspiration for many Indian women.

Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik tied the knot in 2010 in a ceremony in India. Both of them became parents to a baby boy in 2018 who was named Izaan. There were rumors of differences between the couple from the last two years and there were also speculations that both of them have already taken a divorce which was further fueled by Shoaib Malik’s remarriage with popular actress Sana Javed which the former posted on his social media handle today.

Sania Mirza’s father on daughter’s divorce

Sania Mirza’s father, Imran Mirza finally broke the silence on her daughter’s separation news and told PTI that she has taken ‘Khula’ from Shoaib Malik which is a Muslim practice to allow women to initiate a divorce. 

Speculations of the couple’s separation were rife when Shoaib Malik unfollowed the veteran Tennis player on his Instagram handle and two days ago Sania Mirza put up a cryptic Instagram story related to divorce. 

Shoaib Malik took to social media to inform his fans about his marriage with Sana Javed through a post of them from their marriage function with the caption: "And We created you in pairs." It was also a surprise for Sana Javed’s fans as she married a popular Pakistani singer Umair Jaiswal in 2020 and people were not aware when they got divorced.
