Rishabh Pant set to be part of IPL 2024 auction

The Indian Premier League(IPL) 2024 auction will be beginning today with all the franchises ready to go all in to put their money on some big players. Out of all the teams there are still some speculations on whether Delhi Capitals star batter and wicket keeper Rishab Pant will make his long awaited comeback in the tournament after being out for more than a year. Pant has had a lot of success in the IPL with more than 2500 runs to his name. He has also led the Delhi Capitals to their second consecutive playoff spot as well. He will also be present at the auction table with the franchise as well

Pant being present at the auction is a positive sign for the Delhi franchise as he was one of their big players who was supposed to lead the side in the 2023 season as well. This means that even though we don’t know whether the flamboyant left hander will be playing, it will still be good to see him at the helm of affairs with the Delhi Capitals management and coaching staff which includes the likes of Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting. The fans will still enjoy seeing the 26 yr old Gabba Hero after a long time since his injury.

What caused Pant’s injury

The history behind Pant’s injury is one of the most tragic moments in cricket history, where he was involved in a horrible car accident which caused three of his key ligaments some major damage. This made him miss a lot of cricket from franchise and international cricket. He had to go through a long recovery at the National Cricket academy(NCA). He has been showing a lot of improvement as well. He spoke to espncricinfo on his condition saying “Much better, given what I was doing a few months ago. I'm still in recovery to 100 per cent but hopefully in a few months time I will be able to do it”.

We don’t know whether Rishab pant is fit to play in the IPL, but to see him involved in the game is something to appreciate as well. Everyone will be missing him on the field, but to see him practising and making a good recovery is still something to look forward to. Rishab Pant is still one of the most talented players in Indian cricket and to see his recovery and involvement with the team should be enough to create a fun environment which he is known to create.
