Parthiv Patel gives his opinion on Gujarat Titans buying Shahrukh Khan

The Indian Premier League(IPL) 2024 auction is completed with all the teams with their final squads for the upcoming tournament. There have been a lot of big purchases in the IPL and one of the teams who have made some decent buys is Gujarat Titans (GT). The Titans had already impressed everyone in their first two seasons where they won the title in their first season and made the final in the second narrowly losing to Chennai. The franchise has made some smart editions to their squad and are looking good to perform well in the upcoming season.

GT have made good use of their purse buying some upcoming players who will fill the void of some of the players they have released. There was only one spot which was left of Hardik Pandya, who also added depth to the Gujarat batting as well. To fill that void the franchise chose Shahrukh Khan for 7.4 cr who will be a great addition with big-hitting ability at the back end. A lot of experts have given their views on the powerful ball striker from Tamil Nadu, who has impressed everyone in the domestic circuit as well. One of the experts who praised him is former 3-time IPL champion Parthiv Patel.

Parthiv's views on Shahrukh Khan

The former wicketkeeper batter gave his views on Shahrukh Khan on Jio Cinema by reviewing the auction stating “The biggest gap they had to fill was the one left by Hardik Pandya. I feel they have shown faith in Shahrukh Khan there. He can bat both ways at No. 5 or No. 6. He is an experienced player. I feel Shahrukh Khan was their best buy." this statement by Parthiv is very assuring of Shahrukh Khan and his ability in the shortest format of the game. 

The experts have shown appreciation for Shahrukh Khan since his early days in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and there is no surprise that GT has gone all in for the exciting player from the south. With a new franchise and a new beginning for him, he will certainly bring all his domestic experience onto the big stage. This will be a good opportunity for Shahrukh to bring his best game possible with a champion side.
