Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja

The first Test at Centurion between India and South Africa was one of the most disappointing matches for the Indian team where the Proteas got the better of them and won the game by an Innings and 32 Runs. This has brought a lot of criticism to the Indian team, who were not looking like the number one Test-ranked team they are known as. There are a lot of speculations concerning the team on what their strategy for the second game will be and how they will save the series. A lot of experts have given their views on what changes have to be made in the 2nd Test at Cape Town to come back from what was one of the worst performances from India.

There have been a lot of discussions on what should be the few changes India has to make going forward. The experts gave their views on what went wrong and what went right in the Test match already, but the toughest decision will still be whether many changes will be made by the Indian team. These are however only opinions and the final decision will be taken by the staff and management, but they are still experts who know a lot more about the games and have given suggestions as to what changes have to be made. These changes have been with clear and viable reasons by These great thinkers of the game.

Sunil Gavaskar's suggestions

On star sports, it was Former Indian legendary batter and captain Sunil Gavaskar gave his opinions on certain changes to be made by India before the game and gave a clear answer saying “ My playing XI would be not too many changes. I think Jadeja once he’s fit, he’ll probably walk back into the team at the expense of Ravichandran Ashwin that’s what it looks to be because Ravichandran Ashwin was hardly used in the previous game, and there could be a change in terms of the new ball bowling with Mukesh Kumar coming in place of Prasidh Krishna.”

These suggestions make sense since Ashwin was barely used to the ball and did not have the best game with the bat either. As for Prasidh Krishna, who had one of the worst possible starts to his Test career, where he could only manage one scalp and was not looking threatening to the South Africa batters at all. On the other hand with the amount of seam movement and bounce the pacers were getting in the first Test, it is safe to say that Mukesh Kumar who has that natural ability might be a great choice on these Wickets and use the conditions better than Prasidh in the second Test.
