Cricket News: The inaugural match of the second edition of the SA20 was washed out without a ball being bowled. Rain had the final say on the result of the match.

The second edition of the SA20 did not have a good start. The inaugural match of the season between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Jo'Burg Super Kings ended without a result. The match did not even happen as the rain had the final say, even the toss could not happen in the middle due to the wet outfield. At no point did the match seem possible.

Right from the start of the day, there were all chances of rain. Eventually, the match saw an unfortunate ending, which was not expected by the fans. Those who were at St George's Park hoping for the match were disappointed with how things transpired. The players, umpires, and the match officials waited patiently till it had to be called off officially.Β 

There were gloomy faces all around as the inaugural match of the 2nd edition of SA20 did not witness any action on the field. Fans who did not expect the match to get washed out lashed out their anger on the internet. Taking to social media, the fans criticized the poor scheduling and the administration of the league. It gets added to the list of controversies surrounding around the tournament.Β 

Durban Super Giants to face MI Cape Town

While everyone is disappointed with the result of the inaugural match of the season, the focus now shifts towards the second match of the season. MI Cape Town will be up against Durban Super Giants in the 2nd match of the league. If ran gods permit, it would be the first match of the season to be played by the players.

The match will witness some of the star players playing against each other. The likes of Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Kagiso Rabada, Heinrich Klaasen, Quinton De Kock, and many others are likely to play in the match. Pollard will be leading MI Cape Town for the first time. On the other hand, DSG would be led by Quinton De Kock. Fans expect it to witness a result unlike the inaugural match of the season.
