Newly crowned ODI World Cup winners Australia continued to show their might with the bat during the 1st T20 on Thursday. Josh Inglis wanted to make a point to his team and the opposition as he scored a century on Thursday.

Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and chose to bowl first on what looked a great wicket to bat on in Vizag. Avesh Khan, Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma, and Washington Sundar missed getting a chance in the playing XI.

Matthew Wade decided to rest the ODI World Cup-winning trio of Adam Zampa, Glenn Maxwell, and Travis Head. Both the teams are using the five-match series as a tool to prepare for the T20 World Cup next year.

Josh Inglis puts Indian bowlers to the sword –

Fresh of playing a key role with the gloves during then ODI World Cup 2023 final, Josh Inglis showed his prowess with the bat. The 28-year-old scored his 1st T20 century for Australia during the 1st T20 versus India on Thursday.

Josh Inglis had pouched five catches during the ODI World Cup 2023 final but didn’t get to bat. On Thursday the right-handed-batter showed his full range with the bat as he took the attack to the Indian bowlers.

None of the bowlers employed by Suryakumar Yadav could stop the rampaging Josh Inglis. The 28-year-old scored his first international ton for Australia from just 47 balls and leapt in the air with joy to celebrate the feat.

Ravi Bishnoi gave India a good start when he got the wicket of Matthew Short for 13 in the 5th over. Josh Inglis walked in at number 3 and started going after the Indian bowling right from the start. Steve Smith and Josh Inglis then added 130 runs form the 2nd wicket in just 67 balls.

Steve Smith was out for 52 runs from 41 balls with 8 hits to the fence after he was run out thanks to some brilliant Indian fielding. Australia ended their innings at 208/3 from their stipulated 20 overs.
