The 3rd Test between India and England saw the England team get completely demolished by a huge margin of 434 runs. The England players did not have the best of games at the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) in Rajkot. All the England players will only look back on is the innings from Ben Duckett that kept them in the game after day 2. Everything seemed to go wrong for England with both bat and ball. The bowlers were not able to get wickets and stop the runs from flowing and the batters could not challenge the score as well.
It was overall a one-sided contest which every England fan would want to forget. There was hardly any moment in the game where England looked like a competitive side at all. The Indians took control of the game from day 1 itself. This was one of the biggest losses for the England side and the biggest win for the Indians in Test cricket. The series is now in favour of the hosts, who are leading 2-1 with only two more games to go. It is safe to say that it will be a must-win game for the Poms and a chance to seal the series for the Indians.
Ben Stokes' DRS story
England skipper Ben Stokes had already made a big statement on the DRS in the last game. This time it was once again Zack Crawley in the mix. It was one of those classic Jasprit Bumrah deliveries that just nipped back in. Crawley missed it completely and it struck on his back leg. Dharmasena had raised his finger and the review showed umpire call on hitting the stumps. This did not sit well with Stokes who said “ We just wanted some clarity around Zak’s DRS when the images came back.”
With this statement, Stokes further adds that the stumps were missing clearly in the replays. With this, the star all-rounder went on to say that there is something wrong with the projections completely. Stokes went on to say that the umpire's call in DRS should be abolished completely. The talk of this umpire's call has gone long enough. It might be a mistake on the side of the third umpire, but this is already being made into a bigger issue. We hope that Stokes can forget about this whole DRS complaint and come back in the next game with a better performance.
