Dinesh Karthik penned down a beautiful note on Rinku Singh’s bond with Abhishek Nayar after the duo’s viral hug

A young Indian T20 team toppled Australia in a last-ball thriller in the first T20I of the five-3 match series at Vizag. Suryakumar with his scintillating knock of 80 runs in just 42 deliveries played a major role in chasing a steep target of 209 runs in 20 overs.

Ishan Kishan also chipped in with a brisk knock of 58 runs along with a rollicking start by Jaiswal (21) in the powerplay that contributed towards India’s victory. But it was Rinku Singh who caught the attention of many with his courageous knock of 22 not out in just 15 balls. 

Rinku Singh made a big name for himself in the 2023 IPL where he hit 5 sixes in the last over against Gujarat Titans to take KKR over the line from a near-impossible position. He was selected in the Indian T20I team as someone who could finish matches for India with nerves of steel and today Rinku Singh proved that he has it in him to replicate his IPL performances on the big stage.

Rinku Singh’s journey has not been an easy one as he made a start from humble beginnings to make a name for himself on the big stage in his journey so far Abhishek Nayar- the Assistant Coach of KKR has played an important role and both of them share a special bond which could be seen after the match against Australia where Rinku Singh hugged Abhishek Nayar (who was present there as a broadcaster) after his match-winning knock against Australia which went viral on social media.

Dinesh Karthik’s heartfelt revelations

Dinesh Karthik was the captain of KKR, he saw the bond between both of them from closed quarters shared some heartwarming details about it all through a tweet on “X”. Dinesh Karthik said that Abhishek Nayar always saw the potential in Rinku Singh and told everybody that it’s just a matter of time before he will make it big at the International arena.

Karthik revealed that Rinku Singh even lived with Abhishek Nayar at his house where the latter worked closely with him to fine-tune his batting abilities and helped him turn into the kind of match-winner that he has become which is why both hugged each other emotionally as they saw each other’s hard work paying off.

Dinesh Karthik tweeted, “This is one of the most fulfilling and heart-warming pictures going around," Karthik said in a post on X. "The relationship between ABHISHEK NAYAR n RINKU SINGH ... it was a partnership that started in 2018 during my time in KKR. Nayar always saw the potential in Rinku , he kept telling me, it was only a matter of time before he did something really special."

Karthik added, “He stayed in nayars house post IPL for many months for Rehab and started working on his batting and had a stellar domestic season and then eventually did what Nayar and kkr always thought he could do , a MATCH WINNING FINISHER,"
